Why shops pick Glacier ceramic coating.

01

Multi-surface protection

3M™ Ceramic Coating (39901) is engineered to bond on paint, glass, PPF, vinyl, wheels, and plastic trim. One coating system, every surface that takes ceramic.

02

Up to 5-year durability

Maximum water-beading hydrophobicity for up to five years with proper care and maintenance — the longevity premium customers will pay for.

03

4-hour fast cure

Cures in 4 hours with no special equipment. Cars in and out the same day. Faster turn than competing professional ceramic systems.

04

Glass Pre-Treatment included

3M™ Glass Pre-Treatment (39903) prepares the windshield for ceramic application — durable water repellency that holds up across windshield wiper cycles.

05

Ceramic Boost Spray for maintenance

3M™ Ceramic Boost Spray (39905) is the maintenance refresh for coated vehicles. Customers come back for boost service — recurring revenue, not a one-and-done install.

06

3M warranty + authorized installer program

Customer-facing warranty backed by 3M’s authorized installer program. Trust signal at the point of sale.

FAQ

Common questions.

Does Glacier make its own ceramic coating?+
Not yet. Ceramic coating is one of two product categories where we stock a partner brand — 3M — instead of manufacturing our own. The chemistry is mature, 3M is the established standard, and we’d rather sell that than dilute the category with another also-ran.
What's the difference between 39901, 39903, and 39905?+
39901 is the main 3M™ Ceramic Coating — the bonded layer that protects paint and exterior surfaces. 39903 is the Glass Pre-Treatment used on windshields before applying ceramic for water repellency. 39905 is the Ceramic Boost Spray used for maintenance refresh on coated vehicles, or as an entry-level coating with up to 6 months of standalone protection.
How does ceramic coating compare to PPF?+
PPF is a physical film that absorbs rock chips, abrasion, and minor impact. Ceramic coating is a thin chemical bond that adds slickness, gloss, hydrophobicity, and chemical resistance but doesn’t stop physical impact. Premium installs use both — front PPF, ceramic over the rest, glass pre-treatment on the windshield.
Do I need to be a 3M Authorized Installer?+
Yes — for the customer-facing warranty to apply, the installer must be 3M Authorized. Glacier helps trade customers navigate the authorization process when needed.
