St. Louis market

An assembly plant west, an air base east, the Mississippi between them.

Two banks of the Mississippi, two states, one metro. The Missouri joins it at the north end of St. Louis County. Boeing's defense operation sits against St. Louis Lambert International, across Berkeley and Hazelwood. General Motors runs the Wentzville assembly plant out in St. Charles County. Scott Air Force Base and U.S. Transportation Command, the Defense Department's transportation arm, anchor the Metro East on the Illinois bank, and the Next NGA West campus sits in north St. Louis city. Fleet-side work, where a shop carries it, is automotive nano-ceramic in long repeating runs rather than one-off cuts.

The premium side is geographically tight: Clayton's office core, with Ladue, Frontenac, Town and Country and Creve Coeur ringing it. That end of the catalog is full-front and partial-front PPF in clear and satin, plus non-metallic nano-ceramic on the glass.

Architectural runs on its own calendar. Cortex in Midtown, the Central West End medical campus around Barnes-Jewish, and the Clayton office towers are flat-glass and security-film glazing, not automotive glass.

Climate covers the full continental range here: humid summers, freezing winters, wet pavement through the cold months. Fleet, premium automotive and commercial glazing sit inside this one metro, and they pull from three different lines rather than one. Freight is the simple part. Ground out of Las Vegas runs I-15 to I-70 and east into the metro, a truck lane rather than an air one.

Manufacturer-direct pricing

No three-layer markup. St. Louis shops buy direct from the manufacturer and pay the manufacturer's price — not the manufacturer's price plus a regional distributor's margin.

One supplier, one invoice

Window film, PPF, security film, installation tools, shop flooring, and shop lighting — all sourced and shipped together. One trade account covers everything St. Louis shops buy.

Lifetime warranty, direct claims

Every Glacier-manufactured automotive film carries a lifetime warranty registered to your shop. When a claim comes up, St. Louis shops call us — not a regional distributor who calls the factory.

VLT laws

Missouri tint laws apply to St. Louis.

Window film VLT (Visible Light Transmission) limits are set at the state level. St. Louis shops follow the same regulations as the rest of Missouri.

FAQ

St. Louis supply questions.

Direct answers for St. Louis shop owners and trade buyers.

Does Glacier ship window film to St. Louis, Missouri?
Yes. The full ceramic window film, PPF, security film, installation tools, and shop equipment catalog ships from our Las Vegas, NV facility to St. Louis and the surrounding region. Most in-stock orders leave the same business day.
Can a St. Louis tint shop open a wholesale account?
Yes. St. Louis tint shops, PPF installers, paint and body shops, detailers, and contractors can apply for a Glacier trade account at /trade. Most applications are reviewed within one business day.
What window film does Glacier manufacture?
Nano-ceramic only — automotive and architectural. Non-metallic (no signal interference), color-stable (no purple shift), engineered to compete with top-tier ceramic on TSER and IRR while priced closer to mid-tier carbon.
Does St. Louis follow Missouri state tint laws?
Yes. VLT limits, AS-1 line rules, reflectivity caps, and medical exemption procedure are set at the state level. St. Louis shops follow the same regulations as the rest of Missouri.
Does Glacier carry PPF for St. Louis?
Yes. Self-healing TPU paint protection film in clear/gloss and satin finishes, 6–8 mil base, 10-year warranty. Stocked in Las Vegas and shipped alongside window film and shop equipment on a single trade account.
What's the warranty on Glacier window film?
Lifetime against bubbling, peeling, color shift, and adhesive failure on Glacier-manufactured automotive film. 10–15 years on architectural film. PPF: 10 years. Claims go direct to Glacier — no regional distributor in between.
We're an automotive shop, but commercial glazing work in Midtown and the Central West End keeps coming up. What changes on the order?
Format and category. Glacier's window film runs 20-, 36-, 40-, 60- and 72-inch rolls; automotive cutting lives in the narrow widths, while commercial glazing is where the 60- and 72-inch rolls earn their place. The line is different too. Solar-control flat glass and security film are separate from automotive tint, and safety film is code-rated for fall protection and judged on glass retention, not on heat numbers.
PPF reads like a show-car product to us. Does the front-end case look different on a work vehicle in this metro?
Geography and season. I-44 ends downtown, I-55, I-64 and I-70 cross the Mississippi here, and I-270 arcs across the north and west of the metro. Freezing winters put wet pavement under those lanes, and the surfaces catching that spray are the lowest and most forward ones on a vehicle: front clips, rockers, headlamps, mirror caps. That is the panel set clear and satin PPF is cut for.
