- The question is construction, not shade. Glacier's window film is nano-ceramic, and there is no metal layer in the stack — metallic layers are the ones associated with radio-signal attenuation. On a fleet running EZ TAG on the Sam Houston Tollway and Hardy Toll Road alongside GPS units and dispatch radios, film construction is the line item to confirm on the spec sheet before an order goes in.
- Houston sits on the hurricane coast. Does that make security film a storm product here?
- No. Glacier's security film is a glass-retention product: it bonds to the pane so broken glass holds together, which buys delay against smash-and-grab entry on ground-floor retail and office glass. It is not a windborne-debris assembly and is not certified as one. Storm ratings attach to a tested assembly — glazing, frame and attachment — not to film applied to existing glass.
